I am interested in historic and recent land use and land cover change in Eastern Europe, especially in the Carpathian Mountains – a highly diverse region both ecologically and socio-economically. I am looking at patterns and drivers of land change on very broad temporal and spatial scales in order to better understand the implications these changes have for conservation.

I like to spend my free time outdoors (cycling, mountaineering, hiking or gardening). I am also a practical spirit and enjoy putting my hands at work: whether it is small repairs or handcrafting. I love to cook and share food with friends!
