I conduct applied research on natural resource and rural development issues. My training is in economics and I draw on theories and methods from development, environmental, and institutional economics. I am particularly interested in interactions between governance, markets and institutions, and how these affect natural resource use and human wellbeing. My goal as a researcher is to generate knowledge that can inform policies and project design.

I love to travel and am an avid tennis player. While in Madison I have been developing a passion for ultimate Frisbee, canoeing and cross-country skiing.
