Education:
2002, Ph.D. Fisheries & Wildlife, & Ecology, Evolutionary Biology & Behavior, Michigan State University
1996, M.S. Wildlife Ecology, University of Wisconsin – Madison

Research interests:
The main focus of my work centers upon understanding how people influence the landscape and the species present upon them. This focus stems from a life long goal of conserving and managing our natural resource heritage.
Personal interests:
When not engaged in the fine activity of drinking a good dark roast coffee I enjoy taking photos of nature and landscapes, spending time outdoors with my wife and dog, looking for good deals on eBay, lifting weights, and keeping Todd Hawbaker in line.
Projects:
Human impacts on regional avian diversity and abundance
Spatiotemporal dynamics of housing growth hotspots in the North Central U.S. from 1940 to 2000
Effects of housing growth on forest bird populations
