Research interests

I am generally interested in utilizing remote sensing and geospatial techniques for environmental monitoring and assessment. My specific interests are satellite imagery time series and GIS spatial analysis with a strong focus on land use and land cover change. Previously I have experience in examining land use change in China and forest monitoring in Central Asia. My recent project tries to understand how land use was changed in the Caucasus region and the role of ethnic differences, national policies, and armed conflicts.

Personal interests

I enjoy gardening, traveling and exploring the nature. I have a garden at Eagle Heights Community Garden - check out my monster zucchinis and radical radishes when you are around in the season! While inside house, I like cooking very much. Each winter I make more than 30 lbs of kimchi. I also like reading books, playing mahjong and poker games with my friends.
